We are officially 26 days away from Election Day, November 3, and ballots are arriving! The next few weeks are an important opportunity to learn about the candidates, participate in the election, and make our voices heard.
Here's what's happening and how you can get involved!
Ballots Are Here — Make Your Voting Plan!
Mail ballots are on their way! Take some time to review the candidates and issues before casting your vote.
Check out the CFT Voter Guide for information about candidates and ballot measures.
A reminder that your contract has your back!
Under Article 11.7, if your work schedule doesn't provide enough time to vote in an election in which you're eligible, the District must arrange up to two hours off without loss of pay.
If you need time to vote, coordinate with your supervisor.
Go vote! Democracy in a V-formation works better when everyone participates! 🪿

Canvassing-Saturday, October 10
First, a HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday! Faculty, students, and our CFT Field Representative Hector helped us reach hundreds of homes in San Marcos. Special thanks to our new CCE President, Carmelino, for helping us get organized at Woodland Park!
We're heading out again this Saturday, and we'd love to see more CCE members!
When: Saturday, October 10, at 9:30 a.m.
Where: San Elijo Hills Town Center (meet at the fountain)
We still have neighborhoods in San Marcos and San Elijo to visit. Whether you can join us for an hour or the whole morning, your participation is appreciated.
Never canvassed before? Don't worry! The first door can feel intimidating, but it gets easier. Our conversations so far have been respectful, and you don't need to be an expert.
SIGN UP TO CANVASS
More Ways to Participate
Yard Signs: Live in Trustee Area 1 or 5? If you'd like a candidate yard sign, let me know your trustee area and which sign you're requesting. I'll coordinate with the campaigns.
Phone Banking: The campaigns are organizing phone-banking opportunities. Let me know if you're interested, or indicate your interest on the sign-up form.
Paid Opportunities for Palomar Students: The campaigns are hiring students 18 and older at $25/hour for canvassing and yard sign installation. Weekday and weekend opportunities are available. Students who can complete a W-9 may be eligible for paid work; those who cannot should still reach out so we can connect them with the campaigns about other opportunities. Please refer interested students to me.
Sunday, October 11- Get Out the Vote Kickoff
Trustee Area 1 incumbent Dr. Judy Patacsil is hosting a campaign kickoff at Mostra Coffee in 4S Ranch, located at 10550 Craftsman Way, Suite 187, San Diego.
Canvassing in nearby neighborhoods will follow. You can indicate your interest through our RSVP form.
Visit JudyPatacsil.com for campaign information.
26 days. Every opportunity to participate matters.
Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered, shared information, and helped connect our community with this election.
