SOLIDARITY & STRENGTH COMMUNITY FESTIVAL
May 12, 2026

Solidarity and Strength Community Festival 2026

Palomar College staff and faculty are coming together to build something powerful, and YOU are part of it. Free and open to the public.

The second annual Solidarity & Strength Community Festival isn’t just an event… it’s a celebration of community, culture, resistance, joy, and collective power. From music and movement to food, art, and voices that matter—this is where we show up for each other.

Bring your people. Pull up. Show out. Be part of the energy.

This is what solidarity looks like. This is what strength feels like: The festival will include a car show, food trucks, kid-friendly activities, and stage performances by local music, dance, and spoken-word groups. This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Come for the fun, stay for the community!

  • Saturday, May 2, 2026
  • 11:00am - 3:00pm
  • Palomar College - Front Entrance
  • Free admission and free parking in Lot 12

We’re turning solidarity into action! Bring a donation and help us stock essential items for students and families in our community. This is one small way we can make a big impact, together.

Your gift to the Palomar College Foundation reaches students carrying incredible responsibilities. They are single parents; active-duty military students, including those stationed at Camp Pendleton, balancing service to our country with their education; veterans; first-generation college students; and formerly incarcerated individuals working to rebuild their lives. Each one is fighting for a future that once felt out of reach.

Because of donors like you, Autumn is still in school. As a single mother of three, her days are filled with constant responsibility and sacrifice. Every dollar goes toward keeping a roof over her children’s heads and meeting their basic needs. There is no extra, no cushion for the unexpected. When challenges arise, she carries them quietly, staying strong for her kids while holding onto the belief that education is her way forward. Your support helped ensure that a moment of financial strain did not become the moment she had to give up. Instead, she continues, showing her children what resilience and hope look like.

Because of donors like you, Carlos didn’t have to fall behind. As a full-time employee and head of household, he is accustomed to making sacrifices. His education happens in the quiet hours late at night, whenever he can find time between work and family responsibilities. Without a personal computer, even completing assignments became a struggle. Your support helped remove that barrier, giving him the tools he needs to keep going, even at 1:00 in the morning when the world is quiet, but his determination is not.

Because of donors like you, Michael was able to keep going when life could have easily pulled him backward. As a formerly incarcerated student, returning to school is already filled with challenges and uncertainty. When his transportation broke down, it wasn’t just an inconvenience; it was a barrier that could have stopped everything. Your support gave him the ability to repair what he needed and stay on track, allowing him to focus on his education instead of the fear of losing it.

Because of donors like you, Libby didn’t have to take on debt just to stay enrolled. With two babies under the age of two, she is doing everything in her power to build a better life for her family. When her paycheck was delayed, something as simple as textbooks and a parking pass became an impossible barrier. Without help, she faced the weight of uncertainty about whether she could continue her education. Your generosity lifted that weight. It allowed her to stay focused, present, and move forward. She shared, “My boys are my everything, and one day I want them to know their mom worked hard, stayed in school, and proved she could do anything.”
